compounds

The development of Ceratex as a major force in vibratory finishing has been founded on a number of important fundamentals not least of these is our commitment to new compounds and chemical systems.

Our laboratory is working continually on upgrading existing compounds and discovering new ones. A solution to your compound problem is never far away.

A selection from our range is listed below but please
tell us if your requirement does not appear - it is unlikely that we will have nothing to suit your needs !

NOTE: VIBROLAP/VIBROPOL/BP10

The above are the three components of the VIBROLAP/VIBROPOL system of abrasive slurries for use with porcelain pins. The system is for use with all metals where a very fine finish is required (mirror finishes of less than 1 micro inch are realisable with this system). The abrasive content of the slurry can be varied. The two most often used grit sizes are as above 100s and 180/200s

Ultrafinish Process

Process to be performed in vibratory bowl with the following materials:
Ceratex CP2 porcelain pins, Ceratex APA 60/180-220's Paste, Ceratex APP10 Powder, Ceratex BP10 liquid.

1. Mix the paste with the media then load the blades into the running machine. This will give a surface finish of 0.4 micrometres (16 microinches).

2. Wash out the paste and add APP10 powder. Run the parts in this until surface finish reaches desired level.

3. Wash out and add BP10 liquid. This final stage gives the part a reflective finish.

AR56

This is a chemical accelerator descaling compound for use on mild and carbon steels with a neutral pH value. It can be supplied in liquid or powder form (the powder is mixed with water to form liquid version).
